- Provide an understanding of the economic, political, and social factors that shape the business climate in Latin America
- Prepare students for careers in the global workplace
- Promote the interdisciplinary approach of Latin American studies through coursework in business, economics, language, and culture
- Provide opportunities for mentoring with alumni and “real-world” learning through internships and study abroad

There are many career options for individuals with knowledge of Latin America and business expertise. Employers ranging from government entities, multinational corporations, educational institutions, to law firms seek well-rounded individuals who understand diverse work environments and can adapt to a rapidly changing global workplace. The LABE program provides an interdisciplinary approach combining training of foundational business concepts, intercultural skills, and regional knowledge that prepares students to effectively navigate an increasingly complex world.
