Being from the highly segregated city of São Paulo, Brazil, I've had to reckon with the social inequalities that permeate Brazilian society from a young age.
While I had the opportunity to address some of inequality issues through my senior thesis, which investigated the benefits of facilitating access to financial literacy, it was outside of college that I was most able to do so.
Throughout my life, I have been involved in various social projects with NGOs (e.g., ADRA, Maranatha Volunteers International, and S.O.S Amazonia) in the Amazon, Peru, Zambia, Kenya, and India.
These experiences awakened in me a passion for humanitarian assistance and the desire to deepen my understanding about socio-economic development.
