After completing my undergraduate program in political science, I was motivated to take an active role in social change. I returned to Ecuador and was accepted to be part of the first cohort of Enseña Ecuador, an NGO that is part of the Teach for All network. I became an English teacher at a small town located an hour away from Quito, the capital city. This experience shifted my career towards the education sector. After this, I worked for several years in a multinational NGO focused on experiential learning and gap year programs.
The last four years I worked at Fulbright Ecuador managing the programs for Ecuadorians. I spearheaded strategies that sought to broaden the opportunities offered by the Fulbright program to larger segments of the Ecuadorian population. My time at Fulbright awakened my interest in learning more about socio-economic issues in Latin America.
