My Interest in Latin American Studies can be traced back to my first semester of Spanish courses in undergraduate studies, where I was instantly hooked on learning about Spanish colonial Latin America. This led me to study abroad in Chile, as well as then spending time in Perú and Colombia. At the University of North Florida, I completed graduate level direct independent studies in regime change in Latin America, as well as research projects on protecting cultural biodiversity in the Andes. Most recently, I have been contributing to a digital humanities project regarding the history of slavery in the Antioquia region of Colombia, which was presented at LASA 2024 in Bogotá.
