Dr. Robert Walker was interviewed and featured by Discover magazine in the recent article "The Amazon Rainforest Could Die in Your Lifetime — Here's Why." Dr. Walker offers his expertise on the future of the Amazon in the face of climate change, fires, and deforestation. Using quantifiable data of the changing forest from recent years to map out trajectories for the future, Dr. Walker has determined that the Amazon rainforest will be a grassy savanna by 2064.
“I don’t want to be Chicken Little, telling you that the sky is falling, but the numbers speak for themselves,” he says.
