Stand Up & Holler for the Center for Latin American Studies!
February 10, 2020
Join us on February 20 for the Stand Up & Holler: Gator Nation Giving Day campaign!
Gator Nation Giving Day is a fundraising event that calls on UF alumni, students, faculty, staff, families, and friends to come together to support UF and all of its areas of positive impact on our state, nation, and world.
The following funds are featured as part of the campaign:
Latin American Studies Fund
The Latin American Studies fund helps the Center support study abroad scholarships, faculty travel grants, research assistantships for graduate students, and visiting professors on exchange from Latin American universities.
Master of Sustainable Development Practice (MDP) Fund
The MDP fund helps the Master of Sustainable Development Practice Program and the Center support field practicum travel for graduate students during which they apply interdisciplinary and cross-cultural problem-solving skills with a host organization’s practitioners seeking to address important development challenges.
Schmink Fund for Innovation in Tropical Conservation and Development
The Schmink fund helps strengthen and sustain TCD’s impact by supporting new initiatives, training projects, or collaborative research; networking activities among TCD alumni, students, and partners; and outreach activities to return research results to local organizations.
Carmen Diana Deere Director's Fund
The Carmen Diana Deere Director’s Fund is designed to assist the Center Director in maintaining UF’s preeminence in Latin American Studies and supports new initiatives, such as unique student and faculty projects, and special opportunities and needs.
Your gift, no matter the amount, will help strengthen our academic programs by funding scholarships and enhancing the quality of research, teaching and outreach in Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino studies at the University of Florida.
