Join us in contributing to the Richmond F. Brown Graduate Student Fund!
October 1, 2019
Dear Center friends,
In 2006 Dr. Richmond F. Brown joined the Center for Latin American Studies as the Associate Director for Academic Programs. Under his leadership, the M.A. program in Latin American Studies (MALAS) flourished, becoming nationally ranked in terms of the quality of students and the coherence of the curriculum. For ten years, Dr. Brown worked tirelessly to ensure that our students had the academic and professional support they needed as they completed their MALAS degree.
On September 20, 2016, Dr. Brown died peacefully after a long and very brave struggle with cancer. As a way of honoring Dr. Brown’s memory, the Center for Latin American Studies established the Richmond F. Brown Graduate Student Fund. The fund supports MALAS students pursuing internships as part of their degree program. To date, the fund has benefited six MALAS students in their academic journey.
Throughout the month of October, we invite you to join us as we seek to further Dr. Brown’s vision of helping our students pursue their academic goals. For the next 31 days, the Center will raise funds for Dr. Brown’s Graduate Student Fund.
Your donation will help ensure that our students receive much-needed support as they pursue their degree.
You can process your donation through the UF Foundation website. We thank you in advance for your support.
Thank you and Go Gators!
