TCD/Center affiliates Robert Buschbacher, Simone Athayde and Wendy-Lin Bartels published a special issue in the Brazilian journal Sustentabilidade em Debate on resilience assessment as a tool for learning and multi-stakeholder collaboration in the Brazilian Amazon that is now out in book form. The book resulted from a 4-module field course in Mato Grosso and includes 7 peer-reviewed articles on the application of resilience methodology with different Amazonian social groups and contexts, a roundtable discussion with leaders in Mato Grosso’s government, NGO and private sectors, 4 book reviews, a Gallery of Images that gives a shamanic / poetic perspective on resilience, and an interview with resilience network founder Lance Gunderson. The product results from a collaboration with 23 co-authors including 3 UF graduate students, academics from the State University of Mato Grosso and other Amazonian universities, professionals from Brazilian NGOs, the state environmental agency and the local community.
