The Master in Latin American Studies (MALAS) Program at the University of Florida invites
applications from highly motivated students.
One of the top-ranked and oldest centers in the world, the Center for Latin American Studies is renowned for the richness of its academic programs, sustained through dialogue among faculty and students with diverse perspectives, backgrounds and identities. The students currently enrolled in the MALAS program represent a dozen countries of origin and seven native languages. Building on two gateway seminars, MALAS students collaborate with 160 affiliate and center-based faculty members from the humanities, social and natural sciences, and professional schools to develop individual programs of study integrating courses across the university. Options include a joint LAS/JD program and 120 interdisciplinary certificates in topics such as Tropical Conservation and Development, Global Health, Digital Humanities, Public Affairs, Gender Studies, and Sustainable Development Practice.
