Course description

This is an interdisciplinary course that explores what feature and joy might look like when imagined by Afro-Latin American artist. Using the principles of Afrofuturism as theoretical grounds, we will examine a series of cultural products such as literature, performance, films and music (hip-hop and reggaeton), in order to identify the presence of black joy as a trigger for other possible futures that include us all.
